DAVIS & GRIMSLEY
About Us
Kaitlyn Davis, music
Kaitlyn Davis most recently spent the better part of three wonderful years on tour with The Phantom of the Opera. She has been writing music for over 10 years, and her EP of original pop music “You Got Me” is streaming on all digital music platforms. Equally comfortable in both contemporary and classical styles, she has played Hope Cladwell in Urinetown, Ilse in Spring Awakening, Cunegonde in Candide, and won the emerging talent award from the 2016 Lotte Lenya competition. She holds an M.M. in Opera from Rutgers University, and can be seen on NBC’s Law & Order SVU, episode “Crush.” Her next musical will probably be about the joys and sorrows of finishing a family sized bag of Doritos all alone in one sitting- based on a true and frequent story.
Emma Grimsley, book & lyrics
Emma Grimsley recently returned from two and a half years on the road with the North American touring company of The Phantom of the Opera, playing Christine Daaé through the tour’s closing in early February of 2020. In addition to her time touring and off-Broadway, she has spent much of her performing career exploring the intersections between opera and musical theatre. Emma, a playwright and author, holds a BA in Writing from Loyola University New Orleans. Her nonfiction work has been published by PLAYBILL, Theatermania, and DIAGRAM. Desperate for a change, she may or may not have attempted an ill-advised at-home pixie cut by the time you read this bio.
Kaitlyn and Emma met touring North America with The Phantom of the Opera, both playing Christine at different points.
Offstage they discovered their collaborative potential, their shared love of storytelling, and their passion for centering women’s experiences.
